You Took Up The High Heel Challenge!

With your participation, and the pledges you collected, White Ribbon Campaign has raised over $118,000 during this year's Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event.

You walked the walk now it's time to talk the talk

It’s critical to open up communication about sexual violence. When hidden away, it’s almost impossible to stop. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to get people talking. People unfamiliar with it often don’t want to know it exists. It’s ugly. People who have experienced it themselves want to forget about it. How do you get them talking now, so that they can prevent if from happening? And after it’s happened, how do you get them to talk about it so they can recover?
We hope to see you (at friends, and your friend's friends) at next year's walk!

Men Sex It Up In High Heels

From the Toronto Star:
From Toronto to New York to Paris, young men are squeezing their big feet into high heels from the women's shoe department.

It should be noted these are not Bay St. types or Wall St. bankers, or drag queens looking for cheap patent pumps from Payless.

They are fashion fanatics and only the hottest labels in women's footwear will do: Balenciaga, Rodarte and Alexander Wang.

Well we all know that they're really preparing for this year's Walk A Mile In Her Shoes Toronto!

Think slipping on some heels is too tough a challenge? Here are some tips from Enza Anderson:
  • Avoid Walking Like A Trucker
  • Shoulders Back/Chest Out/Back Straight/Swing The Hips
  • Heels and Grates Don’t Match
  • Show No Fear
  • Use A Friend As A Crutch.
  • Don't take your shoes off in public.
Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk. It's critical to open up communication about sexual violence. When hidden away, it's almost impossible too stop. Unfortunately, it's difficult to get people talking. People unfamiliar with it often don't even want to know it exists. It's ugly. People who have experienced it themselves want to forget about it. How do you get them talking now, so they can prevent it from happening? And after it's happened, how do you get them to talk about it so they can recover?

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® provides several opportunities to get people talking. For preventive education, it helps men better understand and appreciate women’s experiences, thus changing perspectives, helping improve gender relationships and decreasing the potential for violence. For healing, it informs the community that services are available for recovery. It demonstrates that men are willing and able to be courageous partners with women in making the world a safer place.
