From thecanadian.wordpress.com:
On Saturday September 5th, 2009 the Kingston longboard and skateboard community will be hosting the first annual ‘All A-Board‘ charity ride in order to raise awareness for the White Ribbon Campaign (WRC).
Organizers are currently speaking with the Kingston Police Department in order to ensure we don’t cause any unnecessary traffic disruptions and more information regarding the route will be announced once details for the event are finalized.
How You Can Help
The biggest way you can help is to spread the word. Tell your friends. Tell them to tell their friends. Raising awareness is about getting the word out and nothing beats good, old-fashioned word of mouth. Even if you don’t attend the event, if you tell someone else about it, you’ve helped. It’s that easy.
Register For The Event
The next way you can help is to come out to the event. In order to get a good understanding of how many people to expect we’d like riders to register ahead of time in either or both of the following ways:
* Register online at our EventsBot.com page
* Add the charity ride to your events on Facebook
Donate To The White Ribbon
While the primary goal of the charity ride is to raise awareness, we recognize that fundraising by independant individuals is a primary source of income for not-for-profit organizations such as the WRC. For this reason we encourage you to donate.
Donations can be made online through CanadaHelps.org. Donations larger than $20 are eligible for tax receipts. All costs incurred by the event are being covered by the organizers and all proceeds will go directly to the WRC.
Remember, there is no such thing as a small donation; every donation makes a big difference to someone out there.
White Ribbon would like to send a huge thanks to Philip Lancaster for spearheading this event.
